The Tree with Yellow Flowers

I saw it in the midst of green trees
The tree with yellow flowers
Emanating joy, conveying their love
For one and all

The morning came to Smidgen their sweet dew on the awaiting earth
The vibrant Sun ascended spreading its golden wings
The tree offered its flower to the rising sun

The sun smiled to see the yellow flowers
And flowers danced with joy to see the sun
They greeted each other
Each recognized the other
They are twins
Shared the same womb
Children of one mother

I stood in silence
Watched the great union of heaven and Earth
And I was not alone
The trees, birds all watched in awe
The wind danced in ecstasy and grass moved in bliss
The birds sang in rapture
The trees jazzed with joy

The whole cosmos danced and sang with delight;
This was heaven on earth.

For me this recalls a memory of when I worked for San Diego County. Every day at lunch time, I would go to this particular spot where the grass was so, so green and the trees were very, very tall. At that time, I was in a phase of life when I listened to lots of gospel music. There was this special song that spoke about how the trees and the mountain praise the Lord. Yes, I do believe in God with all my heart. I am not a "holy roller" but I love Him very much. One day, He will restore this earth to its original purpose.

I love your poem

Thank you for responding to my blog as well Umas :)

Sorry to hear that you are unable to meet your Nana. Family is so important. I had a very strong relationship with my grandmother, Mema. She died last year but she has left me with a lot of her wisdom.

The circumstances were not favorable regarding his arrival, but he is definitely a little blessing for us all. I feel priviledged to be able to take care of him. My daughter has continue with her aspirations in like i.e. due to graduate from UC Irvine in June and has been accept at Cal State Fullerton for her credential program.

She took a few detours a few years ago and I could have lost her, literally, on many occasions. I feel so very blessed to have her and my grandson in my life! I will always strive to be there for her and him.

If it had not been for my Mema, I really don't believe I'd be the person I am today.

Thank you again Umas :)

Hello Umas,
The emotion you convey in this poem is so incredible. As I read your words I was reminded of a favorite place, a hillside meadow overlooking the ocean.
Thank you for reviving the memory.
